Samford Dennis High School was established in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa. Founded in the early '70s the school was named in honor of the late Samuel Ford Dennis Sr., who was once a Minister of the Ministry of Education.
Ever since its existence , the school has graduated numerous students who moved on into many fields of study. Some of these graduates and former students now live either in Liberia or abroad.
Sadly, because of the Liberian civil war, the school was destroyed. However, as former students, graduates and friends of our beloved school, we have formed ourselves into an association to help re-establish links to not only relive the values and ideals that kept us together - love of country and love of human service - but also to help us rebuild the school. We believe that our goal and mission is to make this tribute to our Alma Mater and to our country.
In 2005, alumnus Molley. C. Ballah, current Chairman/President of the association, and other alumnas and former students in Virginia, Maryland and Philadelphia held few meetings that were attended by Professor K-Moses Nagbe, a former instructor and advisor to the association. At the final result of these meetings, the association was founded.
